Tokenomics

WNDL has a fixed total supply. There is no protocol-level minting — the treasury that funds gauge rewards is built from tokens acquired transparently through the public sale, not created out of thin air.

This describes the real WNDL token

The WNDL you can claim from the faucet on testnet is a separate, freely-mintable test contract used only to try the mechanism — it has no connection to the fixed-supply allocation described below, which applies to the real token at mainnet launch.

Fair launch, no pre-mine

100% of WNDL supply enters circulation through a single public sale mechanism. There is no private sale, no venture allocation, and no tokens held back before the sale opens. Every wallet — including the team's — acquires WNDL the same way, at the same market-determined price, through the same public process. Full details of the launch mechanism and timing will be announced separately ahead of launch.

Allocation

Allocation
Share
Public distribution
70%
Team allocation
30%

The team's allocation is acquired through the public sale itself, in a staged and transparent manner, rather than reserved in advance. It is then committed in full to the categories below — none of it is held as unrestricted team funds.

Team allocation breakdown

Emissions treasury
14%

Funds gauge voting rewards, released over time as votes direct liquidity to pools — replaces protocol minting with a fixed, non-inflationary reward pool.

Community airdrop
10%

Distributed to early participants, weighted toward those who lock WNDL and vote early — rewarding real protocol participation over passive holding.

Marketing
3.5%

Growth campaigns, partnerships, and launch communications.

Team & operations
2%

Ongoing development, audits, and infrastructure.

Reserve
0.5%

Contingency for unplanned needs.

Team, marketing, and reserve allocations will be subject to vesting schedules, published ahead of launch, to align the team with the protocol's long-term success rather than short-term liquidity.

Why this model

Real yield protocols that pay holders directly from actual fee revenue have consistently outperformed governance-only tokens. Windlass is designed around that principle from day one: no inflationary emissions, no VC unlock overhang, and a reward treasury built entirely from tokens acquired the same way every other holder acquires theirs.

Windlass is a vote-incentive layer for onchain liquidity. This site and app reflect a protocol still in development — figures shown in the app are illustrative, not live onchain data.
